If you find yourself in Nuuk, Greenland, one place you absolutely must visit is Cafétuaq, nestled in the heart of the lively Nuuk Cultural Center. More than just a café, Cafétuaq offers a unique blend of traditional and modern culinary delights, all within a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages both relaxation and community connection.

The café is renowned for its delicious offerings, including the standout Reindeer Schnitzel, where tender meat is harmoniously wrapped in a perfectly crispy breading and served with an unexpected avocado sauce that elevates the dish to a new level. Witness firsthand the joy of people watching as you enjoy your meal, with the windows framing the vibrant life of Nuuk. As one reviewer aptly noted, it’s “the best meet-up spot,” where locals and visitors mingle, sharing both laughter and stories over plates filled with hearty fare.

Cafétuaq’s menu doesn't stop at the reindeer schnitzel. Try the impressive Shooting Star Plate, a seafood medley that promises huge portions and a taste that captures the essence of local flavors. Diners can also savor the indulgent Hot Sled Dog, though a heads-up from a previous patron indicates it wielded a cultural surprise regarding its meat source, making it as much an adventure as it is a meal.

Customer experiences at Cafétuaq highlight its bustling yet cozy ambiance. The café features plentiful seating, including cozy pillows and blankets for those chilly Greenland days, ensuring comfort as you sip on some of the best coffee around. As one ecstatic patron mentioned, "the food is great" and "the brunch is amazing"—a glowing endorsement that sets high expectations for your visit.

For those who may worry about connectivity while enjoying sumptuous bites, you’ll be glad to know that Cafétuaq offers fast and free Wi-Fi with your purchase, making it the perfect spot to catch up on work or share your adventures online. The reasonable prices only add to its appeal, making it accessible for all who wish to experience the café's unique charm.

In conclusion, whether you’re looking to satisfy your taste buds or simply spend a leisurely afternoon observing the vibrant local life, Cafétuaq is an essential part of your Nuuk experience. Engage in delightful culinary exploration, soak in the culture, and embrace the spirit of this charming café—the backdrop to many wonderful moments shared among friends and strangers alike.

Sit here and see life walk by. Best people watching spot. Best meet up spot. You need to order at the counter and tell the server the table number you plan to sit at. Reindeer schnitzel was amazing! Breading was good. Meat was so soft. Has avocado sauce on the side which surprised me. I also liked how there were pillows and blankets if you get cold.

Huge portions of food. We tried the shooting star plate which came with a bunch of seafood. However, the fried halibut was still frozen in the middle. We also ate the huge hot sled dog. Delicious but you might want to confirm cos we were told this was actual sled dog meat afterwards. The cultural center was packed and they can get very busy during events. Nice to see all the local people enjoying live music.

There are no free toilets in Nook at the mall, Nook center, or in most places. Here you need to pay $1.50 in local currency. The coffee is very good, although I prefer cafe capuzzi where they don’t have WiFi but they do have a toilet for customers. See the menu below

Very bright and open atmosphere. They have a good selection of drinks from smoothies to shakes to coffees. The staff wasn’t overly friendly but not rude. They were quick with their service and the drinks were a welcome respite!

I ordered Greenlandic salat, it was good and the portion is great. My toddler enjoyed her spaghetti bolognaise and the jorbær smoothie

The food and desert is so good! Ordered King Crab comes in a very big portion with just 155 DKK - very affordable. Their chocolate cakes are amazing too. You should not miss when you’re in Nuuk!
